Body found in sea near Ladram Bay believed to be that of a 50-year-old woman from Surrey

Police called at around 1:25pm on Saturday the 9th of September with reports of a body in the water at Chiselbury Bay near Ladram Bay Holiday Park.

The body of a woman was spotted by a fisherman who reported in to both police and coastguard teams.

The Sidmouth lifeboat was launched and recovered the woman to Sidmouth beach, but a paramedic at the scene confirmed that she was deceased.

The body is believed to be of a 50-year-old woman from the Surrey area. Police are not treating this death as suspicious and the woman’s next of kin has been informed, a file will be prepared for the coroner.
