Police expand infrared lighting on Speed detection vans
Devon and Cornwall Police have recently introduced Infrared ‘low Light’ camera technology within Plymouth and have now expanded their innovative equipment across the Force area.
The use of such use technology intends to reduce the amount of fatal and serious road traffic collisions on Devon and Cornwall roads.
Marcus Laine, Operations Manager for the Peninsula Road Safety Partnership said: “Infrared lighting enables officers to continue enforcing speeding vehicles in reduced light.
“This demonstration aims to show the public our increased capability and our commitment to reducing fatal and serious injury collisions for which speed continues to be a major contributory factor.”
