Invictus Game Star raises funds for CEDA

CEDA enabler Andrew White excelled in the military but shortly after achieving his goal of being accepted into the elite unit Coldstream Guards he suffered an injury that ended his Army career.

At the 2017 Invictus Games he cycled his way to gold in the men’s road cycling IRB 3 criterium. He crossed the line in a time of 28 minutes 21 seconds to take first place. Andrew has been selected to represent TeamGB again in the 2018 Invictus Games taking place in Sydney Australia.

As part of his training he wants to complete a personal challenge raising money to celebrate the 30th anniversary of CEDA (Community, Equality, Disability Action) where the former Lance Corporal is now an enabler supporting disabled adults 1-1 to access community facilities and the other many services of CEDA. Andrew aims to ride 1400 miles during the two-week fundraising initiative, cycling along the South West peninsula, stopping off at landmarks along the way such as Lands End and Exmoor National Park. Along with him during the same two weeks, CEDA members and supporters, wheelchair users and cyclists will roll along and knock up a further 1600 miles, totaling 3000 miles collectively.

CEDA Marketing Manager Craig Bowden said, "some CEDA members cannot wait until Andrew is out on the road and we will get to see him reach some of the south west's greatest landmarks, hopefully he will manage to raise some funds to contribute towards our special 30th-anniversary celebrations".
