Exeter developer celebrates one million bricks at flagship development in Topsham
Exeter-based property developer, Burrington Estates New Homes, have marked a major milestone in the build of their developments across the South West as they lay the one millionth brick at EXIII in Topsham.
The property developer, who have been building luxury new homes across the South West for the past three years, celebrated the occasion with a brick laying ceremony, with both construction teams and suppliers in attendance. The millionth brick marks the final phase of the build at EXIII, with only a few properties remaining.
The millionth brick follows a standout year of success for the award-winning developer, who have been recognised by the National House Building Council (NHBC) in their Quality Award Scheme which is the industry's benchmark for quality of a development in terms of build standard and overall site management. Two site managers, Shaun Marsden and Gary O’Gorman, were awarded the Pride in the Job awards for their work at Trispen Meadows, Truro, and Notre Dame, Plymouth, with Shaun going on to win the prestigious Seal of Excellence Award.
Engaging local suppliers and providing jobs within the community is a cornerstone for the property developer, who have partnered with South West Brick and Stone for their developments. South West Brick and Stone, based out of Bovey Tracey, are one of the region’s largest independent bricks specialists providing high quality services to the construction industry.
Colin Palmer, Managing Director at Burrington Estates, said, “This year has truly been incredible for the Burrington Estates New Homes team and we are delighted to have reached this great milestone. We have always said that building houses is so much more than places for people to live, it’s about creating desirable homes and long-lasting communities. Behind the million bricks are the couples and families who have trusted us to create their dream home and we cannot thank them enough.”
Colin continued, “It’s been great working with South West Brick and Stone who have supplied quality bricks for our developments and we have built a strong relationship which we hope to continue.”
Gary Norton, Managing Director at South West Brick and Stone said, “South West Brick and Stone are proud to be associated with Burrington Estates, providing high quality facing bricks to construct exceptional homes for modern families. We look forward to continued development in years to come.”
