Members of CPRE Devon have taken part in two litter picks in the county during which they collected almost thirty bags of discarded waste.

The Devon branch of the countryside charity CPRE led two litter picks in September - one in Exeter and one in Teignbridge - as part of a national CPRE Green Clean Month.

In Exeter, members of the local countryside charity joined forces with employees of Devon Norse. Together they collected 24 bags of litter in just one hour. Volunteers in Teignbridge did a litter pick around Hackney Marshes near Newton Abbot, collecting three bags of rubbish.

Penny Mills, Director of CPRE Devon, said: “As a charity, we’ve been campaigning about litter for decades. It’s a blight on our countryside and towns and harmful to wildlife. We are really keen to work with businesses and community groups to tackle litter, so if you need our help, please get in touch. We have all the gear for you to borrow and will also give you a helping hand.”
