The Venus Company is full of the joys of Spring!
As we welcome the clocks going forward this month and the sunnier days of Spring and Summer, the Venus Company announces the re-opening of the East Portlemouth beach café on Sunday 12th March trading for the new season daily from 10 am to 5 pm. This delightful Venus Café, just a short, picturesque ferry ride from Salcombe, is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, boasting stunning sun-soaked beaches.
East Portlemouth is just one of three fabulous beach cafes within the Venus portfolio which includes Bigbury-on-Sea with beautiful sea views, and Broadsands in Paignton, which is undergoing ambitious external renovations to be completed in time for the Easter break. Venus will offer extended opening times for Broadsands from 8 am to 8 pm, and Bigbury from 9 am, up to 7 or 8 pm, meaning there will be plenty of time to enjoy the sandy beach and water sports, and sample the tasty menu options.
Venus is busy working on its menus for the new season, covering all dietary requirements including a mouth-watering breakfast burrito, vegan sausage roll, and a deliciously smooth and creamy soft-serve ice cream. The exciting new menu will include mackerel pâté and Sicilian bruschetta as specials, together with a new ‘Bang Bang’ chicken wrap, and lots, lots more.
For those looking for a meatier option, Venus has teamed up with Eversfield Organic, an organic Devon supplier from Okehampton to make lip-smacking juicy beef burgers to Venus’s own special recipe. Ellacott Farm nestles on the edge of Dartmoor in the village of Bratton Clovelly, offering fresh, Soil Association organic-certified meat from its own grass-fed cattle. Eversfield inspires healthier living by connecting people to organic food; reducing waste and offering the highest level of quality. This matches the ethos and sustainable operations of The Venus Company whose mission is to be the ‘greenest café operator’.
Not forgetting dog lovers, Venus has launched its new safe two-course canine menu for its four-legged customers, serving 100% natural and appetising dog chews from The Canine Menu. This is followed by delicious Jude’s Ice cream made with real fruit purées of strawberry, apple, and banana, which means it’s great for humans too so you can share it with your dog. And the great news is that 5% of every sale of the ice cream goes to Battersea dogs and cats home!
