Our Streets Now is an organisation dedicated to ending public sexual harassment (PSH). After five years of campaigning, Our Streets Now has achieved legislative change through the Protection from Sex-Based Harassment in Public Act 2023, as well as developing culture change in schools, higher education, sports and on the high street.

Our Streets Now will be attending Exeter Reclaim The Night on 5th of December between 4.30 pm and 6.15 pm as part of our wider work during the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence. We would like to invite a member of your team to join one of our campaigners in your local area to talk about the issue of PSH in Exeter and the work Our Streets Now is doing to tackle the problem of public sexual harassment.

About Isabel:

Isabel Ryall is a dedicated and passionate Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) campaigner and advocate, currently serving on the Senior Management Team of Our Streets Now. With over three years of experience in gender-based violence prevention, she specialises in driving cultural and legislative change within higher education institutions to combat public sexual harassment. She has represented Our Streets Now at numerous conferences and events, including delivering a TEDx talk on tackling public sexual harassment within universities.

“Public sexual harassment is widespread within society. From cities to towns to the countryside, women, girls, and those of marginalised genders aren’t able to navigate and enjoy public spaces without fear of harassment. While the Protection from Sex-Based Harassment in Public Act 2023 is an important step, change will only happen through the education of everyone within our communities.” – Isabel Ryall, Our Streets Now: Higher Education Lead.

‘’The law alone will not end public sexual harassment. There is a culture of misogyny, harassment and inequality that needs to change. Our Streets Now believes in a preventative approach to public sexual harassment.’’ - Charli Keely, Our Streets Now Campaigns Coordinator.
