BBC One recommissions The Voice UK

The BBC has announced it has recommissioned the popular Saturday night TV show that shot Adam Isaac into the public spotlight. Mark Linsey, Controller - Entertainment Commissioning, says: "The Voice has been a huge success for BBC One. Finding a Saturday night break-out hit is incredibly difficult, but this show hit the ground running and it's fantastic to ensure its future on the channel."

Moira Ross, Head of Entertainment at Wall To Wall, and the show's executive producer says: "The Voice is a global format phenomenon and it's been an extraordinary ride crafting it into a much-watched and loved show for BBC One audiences. I'm thrilled to be continuing that journey."

The first series of The Voice UK in 2012 achieved average consolidated viewing figures of 9.2m across the series, making it the BBC's most successful entertainment launch for 10 years. So far series two, currently airing on BBC One, is consolidating at an average of 8.5m per episode (Live + 7 series average is 9.7m including BBC iPlayer). The Voice UK has around 270,000 followers on Twitter and is regularly the top tweeted programme on a Saturday night. It has almost 300,000 friends on Facebook. In addition, the brand-new Voice Predictor game has had over 500,000 downloads to date.
