Young Ones sails through to the next stage of Pitch it to Michon
Cheshire-based Young Ones is through to the voting stages of Pitch it to Michon, a national competition where start-up businesses can pitch to win marketing support and design worth up to £15,000.
To celebrate 30 years in business, Nottingham-based creative agency, Michon, opened up a nationwide competition to find the best new business ideas and talent. Having narrowed down the field to a lucky six, the finalists, including Young Ones, must now put together a video pitch that will be published online for the public to vote on.
Started by Chris Rea, who is about to graduate from Exeter University, Young Ones is a clothing company that specialises in customised onesies for organisations and sports teams, including universities across the UK, ski clubs and even Harvard University in the USA. They’re now planning to expand their merchandise with the hope of developing their product range into a fully fledged fashion brand in the future.
Commenting on reaching the final six, Chris Rea, co-owner of Young Ones said:
“It’s brilliant news! I’m absolutely delighted to have been selected to pitch my business to Michon.
“Setting up a business on your own can be a daunting prospect, so the opportunity of winning the marketing and design support of a company with so much experience is like gold dust.”
The public will vote one entrant through to the final and the judging panel at Michon will vote another two through to the final three. The winner of the final will get marketing and design support to suit their needs which could include everything from brand design and development to website build, photography and web marketing.
Jeff Michon, managing director at Michon added:
“The standard of entries was really high so the six finalists have done brilliantly to stand out from the crowd and put themselves within touching distance of being our winner.
“I am looking forward to the next stage, meeting the entrants in person and seeing the video pitches. These pitches will help us narrow the competition down further to find a business we truly believe in and that we’re inspired to work with over the coming months and hopefully into the future.”
