Update 5pm: As a result of the earlier appeal, a potential witness has been identified and has spoken to the Police.

Earlier today (25 July): Police are looking to identify a male cyclist (pictured) who is a witness to the house fire at Magnolia Court in Tiverton on Tuesday 23 July.

He cycled past the fire before emergency services arrived, possibly more than once. He may hold vital information.

A joint Police and Fire Service investigation has been launched following the fire which damaged four properties in Tiverton at around 4pm.

The fire, which is being treated as suspicious, spread to four properties, causing extensive damage to one house. No-one was injured.

A 30-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident and was later released on police bail until 25 September 2013.

Anyone who recognises this cyclist in the bright pink t-shirt is asked to contact DC Carly Davies at Tiverton CID on 01884 233822 quoting crime reference KT/13/1196.
