A charity classic car show in Exmouth is expecting to attract over 200 cars when it opens the gate on Sunday 20th August, writes David Morgan.
The annual Exmouth Classic Vehicle Gathering is staged by the Devon Branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club (MMOC) and takes place on the Imperial Recreation Ground, next to Exmouth Rugby Club, between 10am and 4pm.
Local members from the MMOC organised their first gathering at this venue back in 2004 and decided they did not want to follow the same format as other organised shows in relation to vehicle exhibitors having to pay an...
Devon County Council is asking householders in the Rosebarn Lane area of Exeter if they want a resident's parking scheme.
Some residents in the area have contacted the council and said that they are finding it difficult to park near their homes.
The consultation, which runs from Friday 19 May until Wednesday 7 June, follows a petition submitted by residents to the council at the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) on 14 November 2016.
Devon County Council now wants the views of as many people who might be affected by new restrictions in this area as...

Exeter City Futures is facilitating a collaboration between City Science and Lightfoot to offer free Lightfoot devices to drivers in Exeter. One of the biggest problems with modern day motoring is that good drivers are paying for all the bad drivers out there on the road. Not to mention the air quality issues that bad drivers create.
Well, thanks to a new technology called Lightfoot, good drivers are now rewarded.
Although the technology is not being released to consumers until later this year, if you drive in or around Exeter for two or more days a week you could be...
Britain has no transport policy and nowhere more is this obvious than in Exeter. Our country has stop-start history of short-sightedness which has left us in the present mess, and which will need brave political decisions to address. Recent traffic congestion in and around the city is a symptom of this malaise, so where is the leadership needed to take us in a different direction?!
In short, we have adopted American-style poor planning practices in a country which is small, overcrowded and polluted. We have encouraged huge developments which depend on car access and road-based...
Twelve organisations have teamed up to spread an important message among dog owners this summer.
Rescue and rehoming charities, veterinary associations, police, and welfare organisations are all working together to ensure owners know the dangers the warm weather can pose to dogs over the summer months.
The RSPCA receives thousands of reports of dogs suffering from heat exposure every year - that equates to one call every hour.
Already this summer the RSPCA have been called to three dogs which tragically died in a hot car.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about a series of car fires in Exeter this morning (9 June 2016) to contact them.

The fire service was already dealing with another car on fire in a driveway of a property in Magdalen Road, and another car was reported on fire in Fore Street, Heavitree.
An Exeter-based motor vehicle firm is launching pioneering new technology to the consumer market which could reduce road traffic accidents by up to 60%.
Lightfoot is a driver improvement system originally developed to help businesses cut fuel costs and CO2 emissions but is already helping fleets cut their accident rates.
The Lightfoot team have now held talks with Exeter City Council, and the Exeter City Futures team is considering how to use the technology in some of the Council’s fleet vehicles.
The technology was developed by Lightfoot Managing Director Mark...
