John Scott is presently Organist and Director of Music at St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, New York (where he directs the renowned choir of men and boys) following a long association with St Paul’s Cathedral, where he was Organist and Director of Music from 1990 until 2004.
A highly regarded choir trainer, composer and arranger, John Scott is widely recognised around the world as one of the leading recitalists, so we are extremely proud to announce his performance here in Exeter, the first recital on the newly restored organ.

CHILDREN and young people from across the region will come together on Sunday (DEC7) for the second in a series of three B Sharp Voices concerts of music and song inspired by Beer Quarry Caves.
The afternoon show at the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis finds secondary school age soloists who have been working with professional musicians as part of the B Sharp Voices project performing with the 94-strong choir of primary school children from St Michael’s and
Mrs Ethelston’s in Lyme Regis, Marshwood Primary and Bridport St Mary’s who made their concert debut in October.

A project to carry out major repairs at Exeter Cathedral can now begin, thanks to funding from the government’s First World War Centenary Cathedral Repairs Fund for England’s Cathedrals.
Exeter Cathedral’s award of £277,547 is part of a package of £8.3 million in grants for 31 English cathedrals announced today by Culture Secretary Sajid Javid. The money has come from a government-sponsored fund set up to support vital repairs to some of England's most important historic buildings.
The Dean of Exeter, Dr Jonathan Draper, welcomed the news:
Every year since 1973 the Exeter Flotilla has held a Trafalgar Service in Exeter Cathedral to commemorate Lord Nelson's great victory in 1805.
This year, on Sunday 19 October, the White Ensign will once again fly over the cathedral.
The service starts at 11.30am and will be attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Devon, the High Sheriff of Devon, the Lord Mayor of Exeter, and Senior Royal Navy and Royal Marine officers.
The congregation will include contingents from HMS Drake, HMS Raleigh, HMS Vivid, Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, and Sea Cadets from Devon...
