A team from temporary power specialist ide Systems will be taking on the Royal Marines Commando Challenge in Devon on Saturday (October 8).

The challenge, which takes place in Yettington, Woodbury Common, is a six-mile endurance course that raises money for The Royal Marines Charity and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. The Commando Challenge takes place each year and consists predominately of water-based tests of endurance, such as crawling through trenches and swimming through water-filled tunnels. Bonkers Brompton challenge to help change lives around the world

A former Exeter College student is taking on a huge cycling challenge on a tiny bike in support of the BBC Media Action’s life-changing work around the world. Geraldine Sweetland, originally from Farway, will be cycling 100 miles, including climbing the infamously steep Leith Hill and lengthy Box Hill in Surrey, on a folding Brompton bike as part of the Prudential RideLondon Surrey100 event on Sunday 31st July. Trekkers prepare for Great Wall Challenge

October sees the start of a potentially epic adventure for Hospiscare volunteer Heatherbelle Bates and Hospiscare fundraiser Charlotte Knipe.

For on 8th October, the intrepid duo are going to China for the Great Wall Challenge, China Trek, a 9 day adventure following the Great Wall of China to help raise funds for Hospiscare.

Eager to be prepared, the trekkers brought along black Labrador Luca for a local warm up walk on Wednesday 22nd June.

England blind footballers challenge local businesses

WESC Foundation (WESC) in partnership with Listen2Win hosted a Visual Impairment Challenge at WESC’s 14-acre campus in Exeter.

Kezia Barclay, a Graduate Engineer for Interserve Construction, has gallantly signed up to a new sponsored challenge for Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education.

In national Deaf Awareness Week earlier this month, Exeter Deaf Academy launched a new sponsored challenge called ‘Voice Off’.

This charity event aims to raise much needed funds as well as awareness of the one million Deaf young people across the UK who struggle to use or understand spoken language, as well as tackle some of the common misconceptions about deafness.

They say the best form of defence is to attack and that’s the philosophy Rob Baxter will be instilling into his Exeter Chiefs side ahead of tomorrow’s European Champions Cup quarter-final with Wasps at the Ricoh Arena (3:15pm).

St Luke’s students bid for new pool
