A group of young people from Exeter who devised a new system for Foodbank donations at a city centre supermarket have been rewarded for their efforts, beating 10,000 other projects to win a prestigious prize.
The group, who are aged 15-17, took part in this summer’s National Citizen Service (NCS), which is run in Exeter by the CITY Community Trust.

An enterprising community centre is celebrating after securing an exciting new opportunity for their popular café. Exeter based St Sidwell’s Community Centre, affectionately known as St Sid’s , has been awarded the contract to provide canteen services for Liverty’s (formerly Devon and Cornwall Housing) new Headquarters at Exeter’s Skypark development.
From April, the expanding social enterprise will offer healthy, delicious and affordable food to over 300 Liverty staff, coinciding with the Housing Association’s merger with Knightstone and relaunch as Liverty.

A group of dedicated young people, the Macula Collective, have been out in all weathers, all through the winter capturing images of Heavitree Pleasure Grounds - IN THE DARK! This project was commissioned by the people of Heavitree themselves as part of the Heavitree Squilometre project and we're pleased present the results of this youth-focused work in a pop-up Exhibition in Heavitree Park.
The Exhibition will also include images from other memory and reminiscence work from other members of the Heavitree Community who were keen to share what the Park means to them.

Exeter St James Community Trust Ltd has won £13,000 of funding from the Government’s Pocket Parks Programme and, thanks to local County Councillor, Jill Owen, a further £5,000 matchfunding has been awarded from DCC's Locality Budget.
