The Devon branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England is seeking Devon’s Best Churchyard of 2019 and is inviting churches of all denominations to enter the competition, now in its 2nd year.

Devon’s churchyards form part of the county’s rich and varied landscape. They are much more than burial grounds. They are unique and special places. Green havens of sanctuary for people and wildlife. Some little changed over the centuries.

Exeter’s budding creatives called to enter new competition

A new initiative launches today, giving Exeter’s emerging artists and designers a unique opportunity to take over a large window space on Paris Street. Exeter-based designer, Charlotte Froud, approached Princesshay with the idea for the competition to use the large available window display space on Paris Street. Painting by Exeter pupil triumphs in CPRE Devon’s county-wide primary school competition

A picture by young artist Ava Perkins from Clyst Heath Nursery and Community Primary School in Exeter has won first prize in this year’s ‘My Outdoors’ competition, organised by the Devon branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England.

The judges were so impressed by eight-year-old Ava’s painting entitled Dartmoor that they awarded her the title of ‘individual winner’ in Key Stage 2.

There were lots of commendations too for Exeter schools Willowbrook, Ladysmith, and Wynstream.

Pupils' work shortlisted for national award

The artwork of two Exeter School pupils has received recognition in a prestigious national award.

William Dean and Lydia Brookes-Ferrari's biological specimen drawings made the shortlist of the Nancy Rothwell Competition.

The national competition is an opportunity for pupils to combine their artistic talents with detailed observations and anatomical knowledge.
