Construction of the new Cranbrook town centre is due to start on Tuesday 30th August.
The consortium of developers, Henry Davidson, Hallam Land Management, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon will start work on a supermarket, high street shops with homes above, a town square and a children’s day nursery.

Taylor Wimpey Exeter recently helped pupils at St Martin’s Primary School in Cranbrook plant 10 new trees to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The donation from Taylor Wimpey was to support the school’s involvement in The Queen’s Green Canopy campaign, a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee this year which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
Pupils worked together to plant the trees with the help of a Taylor Wimpey Sales Executive from the Cranbrook development.
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community, Taylor Wimpey Exeter has donated a further £750 towards parkrun events at Cranbrook Country Park.
The social running event was initially set up in 2019 by Matt Rowett, who is the founder of the Cranbrook Running Club and a resident at Taylor Wimpey’s Cranbrook development.
The initiative originally began as a two kilometre running event for children in the local area, but due to its popularity within the community, Matt has now also launched a five kilometre parkrun for adults.
