Network Rail is inviting Dawlish schoolchildren to take part in an art competition that will brighten up hoardings around the new sea wall works at Colonnade underpass, close to Dawlish station. Winning pictures, based on the theme ‘What Dawlish means to me’, will be reproduced on the hoardings, remaining in place until the works are complete in spring 2020.

Network Rail has announced that throughout the summer, staff will be undertaking regular beach cleans along the Dawlish sea front to help keep the beach clean and free from rubbish. The commitment follows the break in work to improve the resilience of the sea wall between Dawlish station and Kennaway tunnel over the peak tourist season.
