This is the Quarter-Finals of the Western Division of One Act Plays as part of The All England Theatre Festival 2017. This year these Quarter-Finals are being arranged by Teignmouth Drama Festival. Sadly, Teignmouth is at present without a Theatre. Please spare a thought for them and also for the local amateur musical and drama groups in Barnstaple who are in this case without two Theatres. Teignmouth Drama Festival has hired our venue at The Blackmore Theatre for this event. Performance times are 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday 22nd April 2017. Two groups will be performing in the afternoon...
"London Suite" is a comedy written by Neil Simon and will be presented at The Blackmore Theatre by The Exmouth Players from Monday 8th through to Saturday 13th May 2017, plus a Saturday Matinee. Evening performances commence at 7.30pm. The Matinee starts at 2.30pm. This play takes part in a London Suite. You may think of this as a sedate place, but what really is about to unfold? The play itself is made up of the four following plays:- • Settling Accounts - The Suite is occupied by an inebriated Welsh writer who is holding his long time business manager, caught absconding with the writer's...
This is an opportunity for those drama groups who have entered this year’s Festival to perform their One Act Plays in front of a professional adjudicator.

Christmas 1916. While war wages on, those back at home in Illyria try to forget and seize the day, seeking distraction through frivolity, solace, and companionship.

Giles Shenton, as Old Herbaceous, keeps us engrossed, entertained, amused and emotionally engaged. Old Herbaceous is an acute and sometimes hilarious observation of relationships between the classes in a gentler, simpler age.
Sprinkled with witticisms and epithets. Giles Shenton truly lives the part and makes us feel it’s a private chat from a bygone and comforting age that leaves us with a feeling that, perhaps, all’s right with the world. The humorous love story of a single-minded yet gentle...

It’s the 23rd June - the day of the Euro Referendum and just another lunch time in the works canteen for cousins Len Silver and Melvyn Gould and their colleagues, but beneath their love of haute cuisine and jovial banter there’s trouble brewing. Sid Vishnu’s lentil Dahl and Don Beattie’s bangers and mash are emblems of a nation divided!
Substance and Shadow Theatre present a black comedy that will have you chewing over the remains of Brexit and deciding on a...
