EMG Symphony Orchestra heads to Princesshay

On the 20th May, Princesshay will play host to the EMG Symphony Orchestra who will be treating shoppers to a free performance of light, classical music.

The EMG Symphony Orchestra, who are celebrating 50 years in the business, only showcase at a handful of performances throughout the year, making their visit to Princesshay a very special one.

Orchestra says farewell to popular conductor

EMG Symphony Orchestra said farewell to its conductor with a performance of Britten’s War Requiem at Exeter Cathedral yesterday, 23 April. The Cathedral was full to capacity for the concert. A huge choir joined almost 100 players for the performance, which fell on the same date as the first bombing raids on Exeter during 1942. EMG Symphony Orchestra Concert in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity

The EMG Symphony Orchestra is putting on a concert in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity on Saturday 23 November at the Great Hall, Exeter University, starting at 7.30pm.

Conducted by Marion Wood, and led by Clare Smith, the orchestra will be performing Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet (selections from Suites 1 & 2), Symphony No 4 by Brahms, and Sun Paints Rainbows on the Vast Waves by David Bedford.
