Exeter’s St James’ Park Station platform garden now has lavender, rosemary, thyme and wildflowers to encourage bees and butterflies and make the station more attractive for rail passengers on the Avocet Line from Exeter to Exmouth.

A major fund raising event towards the on-going maintenance and upkeep of this fine 15th Century Grade 1 listed building, Crediton Parish Church is thought by some to be one of the finest parish churches of its kind in Devon.
The floral exhibition takes place Saturday 4th June – Thurs 9th June at 10.00am – 6pm, except Sunday at 11am – 6pm.

New camera technology that reveals the world through the eyes of animals has been developed by University of Exeter researchers. The details are published in the journal Methods in Ecology and Evolution.
The software, which converts digital photos to animal vision, can be used to analyse colours and patterns and is particularly useful for the study of animal and plant signalling, camouflage and animal predation, but could also prove useful for anyone wanting to measure colours accurately and objectively.

Starcross railway station has been brightened with pretty summer flowers thanks to a partnership between Easter Hill Nursery and its owner James Murphy, First Great Western and the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership.
Mr Murphy said: ”Looking out onto the Exe Estuary from Starcross station is one of the best views in South Devon. I am delighted to be working with First Great Western and the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership to welcome passengers at Starcross with these bright new planters full of flowers.”

This year the flower festival will transport you back to your childhood (farther away for some than others!) as the theme is Nursery Rhymes.
Around 20 displays will be on show in this beautiful old church, from Oranges and Lemons to Little Miss Muffet (watch out for the spider, only joking not real) and many more. The arrangers are hard at work designing their displays and it will be a delight, as always, to see the church filled with flowers.
Also there will be a splendid In Memoriam flower display, alongside the names of those to be remembered.
