Abby Turner, keen golfer from Okehampton, is teeing up for the UK final of the largest amateur golf tournament in the world: the Audi quattro Cup at the Bowood Hotel & Golf Resort in Calne, Wiltshire, on 7 September 2017. Representing Exeter Audi, Abby secured her place in the prestigious UK final with playing partner, Jon Veale. Together, they swung to success at one of the major regional rounds, which took place at Celtic Manor, Newport. New first hole for EGCC

With the alterations under-way, Exeter Golf and Country Club has opened the first of the re-developed holes which is part of the new golf course design.

Golf Captains, John Fairman and Jackie Follett opened the new golf hole on Friday 5th June.

The hole will be played as the 16th this season and measures at 146 yards with a large, new teeing ground, renovated bunkers and widened green, which modernise the hole, demonstrating how length is not the only factor in creating a demanding par 3.

Exeter Golf and Country Club has launched new initiatives to encourage more young people to play golf and help reverse the national decline in young golfers.

Reports by England Golf and the English Golf Union demonstrate the decrease in golfers aged under 30 years old. Both organisations recommend strategies to help golf clubs rectify this and future proof talent in the sport, along with increasing the overall number of golf members nationally.

Exeter Golf and Country Club win over East Devon, Tiverton and Woodbury in latest round of the Exe League.

It was Exeter’s turn to host the second leg of the round robin format of teams including East Devon, Woodbury park and Tiverton. With 3 foursomes pairs and 3 Fourball betterball pairs, and all scores to count, no team can afford a slip up. On a bright but breezy day, Exeter Golf and Country Club stormed to a comfortable victory by beating East Devon by 23 points. Scottish international rugby player at Exeter Golf and Country Club

Exeter Golf and Country Club played host to former Scottish international rugby player, Andy Irvine, at a lunch organised by leading property consultants Jones Lang LaSalle.

Andy, who notched up 51 caps for Scotland between 1972 and 1982, also played for the British and Irish Lions and managed their recent tour of Australia in 2013.
