In March, RockSolid Race is returning to Escot Park but this time it’s not only the adults who get to have all the fun. Children aged between 5 and 13 years can take part in the Yeo Valley Rock Stars – a mini obstacle course.
The mini event is split into two age groups and distances– 5-7 year olds who need to be accompanied by an adult for a 1km course and 8-13 year olds who complete a 1 mile course with extra and more challenging obstacles.
Over the course, they will face obstacles that include net scrambles, balance beams, tunnels and straw pyramids – to name but a few...
Here at RockSolidRace, we think everyone should enjoy the brown stuff. Which is why we have our very own kids’ race – bringing muddy mayhem to children aged between 5 and 13!
Our carefully constructed mini obstacle course is about 1km in length, with obstacles like entanglement, net scrambles, tunnels, straw pyramids and, of course, oodles of mud!
The event is split into two age groups: 5–7 year olds and 8–13 year olds. That way, we keep everyone safe and challenged.

This March sees Rock Solid Race returning to Escot Park for the third time – bringing with it more obstacles, more races and more days to do it in (the event will be running on both days this year).
Founder and owner Ashley Jardine is thrilled with the reaction to the event. Having left a safe career as an Optician just three years ago, he took a big gamble on carving out a new career in Obstacle Racing. It looks like it has paid off.
“Just three years ago, Escot Park was our very first event and since then we have become known as being one of the best races around.”...

RockSolidRace is a full on cocktail of mud, sweat and team work that will push your mettle to the max. Overall a great event at a brilliant venue, with lots of obstacles, showers on finish and lots of smiley faces. Choose to run 5km, 10km or 15km in a team or as an individual.
Exeter-based design agency Digibug completed the 10k RockSolidRace challenge at the weekend.
As just a few of the 2,500 participants, Team Digibug weren't doing the race just for the fun of it (although they did enjoy it) but also raised money for one of their clients - national charity uk4u , which sends Christmas presents to troops who are overseas at Christmas and unable to be with their loved ones at that time.
Digibug Director Lee Potter filmed the whole thing on a head camera and has edited it to give you a first person's perspective - so experience what RockSolid is...
Despite the rain, the hail, the mud and more mud, 2,500 participants and 1,500 spectators turned up at RockSolidRace's inaugural event on Saturday at Escot Park.
Participants took part in either a 5k or 10k race through the Devon countryside with just a few little challenges in their way. It really wasn't a course for the faint hearted. Obstacles included scaling 8 foot walls, a hydroslide, an ice skip and many, many more.
Ashley Jardine, the event organiser, commented "it was a great event and we're thrilled at the numbers that turned up especially with the weather that we...
RockSolidRace is hitting Devon on Saturday 16 March and everyone is talking about it. With 2,500 taking part in the event and lots of spectators, it’s going to be a day worth being a part of.
If you’re not keen on getting muddy but want to get involved OR you have missed your chance to get a ticket and do the race, why not become a volunteer for the day? As a volunteer, you'll help us make sure that RockSolid runs like clockwork. Volunteers are an integral part of our event and without them, well, it couldn't happen! You could be doing anything from keeping the ice baths filled to...
With RockSolidRace’s inaugural event only two months away, obstacle racing is becoming the hot topic of conversation. The event, being held on 16th March, offers a challenge like no other seen in the South West.
We’re talking about the choice of a 5k or 10k obstacle course that includes scaling 8 ft walls, crawling through mud under barbed wire and plenty of water based obstacles - it’s certainly not a course for the faint-hearted! That, however, doesn’t seem to be putting people off as they’re signing up in their droves.
Demand for the event has already surpassed initial...
In March 2013, the South West will become the latest venue for an exciting new obstacle race. RockSolid Race ( www.rocksolidrace.com ), the brainchild of locum optician Ashley Jardine, is already leading the way against its competitors.
With other events dominated by male participants, organisers usually struggle to break the 70/30 split. RockSolid race is already bucking this trend with 50% of women signing up to the event so far.
With the first event taking place in March 2013, Ashley has already achieved great success with both the University of Exeter (...
