Do go along and watch the milling - it's poetry in motion and leaves no carbon footprint! Otterton millers are very happy to explain the milling process to you and answer any questions.

Church school celebrates after being declared an outstanding school

An East Devon Church school is celebrating after being declared an outstanding school.

Otterton Church of England VA Primary School was upgraded from good to outstanding in the latest report by the National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools.

Headteacher Carron Saunders said: “We are delighted. There is a lovely ethos here, our children are spiritual, thoughtful and caring and we see that on a day to day basis. It’s good to see it recognised by an outside body.”

The Secret Gardens of Otterton

At least 14 gardens will be open as part of the 25th anniversary of The Secret Gardens of Otterton, varying from large, well-established traditional gardens to an award winning cottage garden and a modern-landscape architect-designed garden for modern living. Also open is the Old Station which offers model train rides with a newly extended track. In aid of Hospicecare and the local church.

Admittance ticket: £5 Admits one person to all the gardens, tickets will be available from any garden on the day and on the Village Green (accompanied young children free)....

Stolen silverware returned to St Michaels & All Angels in Otterton

A silver chalice and a silver wafer box have been returned to the church from where they were stolen at the end of January 2013. The theft happened between 20 and 24 January at the Church of St Michaels & All Angels in Otterton, East Devon. Two other chalices, a Grimaldi and a Philips, were also stolen from the vestry at the time and these have yet to be recovered. The returned chalices were left in Colaton Raleigh church sometime before 23 February 2013. Some documentation was also returned including a Marriage register book which was described as irreplaceable. Police are appealing...

Police appeal after thief steals church silverware

Police in Exmouth are appealing for information following the theft of silverware from the church of St Michaels & All Angels in Otterton, East Devon sometime between Sunday 20th January and Thursday 24th January.

The offender(s) entered the church during daylight when the Church was unlocked and stole silverware from the vestry.

Amongst items stolen were a silver wafer box holder, three silver chalices and a small silver dish.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or to anyone who has information regarding the theft. Anyone with any information is asked to...
