InExeter, the business improvement district for the city, is thrilled to unveil plans for the installation of two new ‘parklets’ for the city centre. The Parklets have received £50,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and are being commissioned by InExeter . Scheduled for installation in early February and located on Fore Street and Musgrave Row, these repurposed parking spaces will enrich the public space experience for residents and visitors to the city.

A monitor lizard found wandering around an Exeter park has been reunited with its owner.
Rex, as he is known, escaped from his owner’s bedroom on Tuesday night and made his way into the neighbouring Belle Isle Park.
A member of the public spotted the metre-long lizard in the wooded area of the park whilst out walking on Wednesday afternoon.

Community charity Park Life Heavitree is building a café and community facility in Heavitree Pleasure Ground.

Work has begun on a new skate park for Exeter. Diggers moved on to the site at Arena Park today and the new facility is expected to be ready by Christmas. Temporary equipment installed last November has now been removed ready for the work to begin and the site secured and fenced off to the public. At around 6pm on Saturday the 7th of October, there was an altercation between three teenagers and a man near the basketball courts in Regents Park, Heavitree.
One 16-year-old and two 15-year-old boys were assaulted by a man following an argument.
