People heading to Radio 1's Big Weekend at Powderham Castle experienced long delays following a serious two-vehicle collision near Matford roundabout in Exeter.

Police, ambulance, and the Devon Air Ambulance were called at 11.30am today (Sunday) following the collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A379 at Sannerville Way.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by the air ambulance.

Teenager assaulted in Tiverton

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was assaulted on the Grand Western Canal tow path in Tiverton on Friday 20 May.

The incident took place on the canal tow path between Tidcombe Bridge and the main canal basin between 7.10pm and 7.20pm.

The victim, a 17-year-old local boy, received minor injuries after a demand was made for him to hand over his belongings.

No items were taken by the suspect who is described as being a white male, 5ft 10ins in height and of average build. He was wearing a dark hooded top.

Police were called just after 2pm on Sunday 22nd May after items of huge sentimental importance were stolen from a white Honda Estate which was parked near the commercial boat builders on Water Lane, Alphington, Exeter.

Body found in Devon park

At 0300 hours on Sunday 22nd May hours police discovered a body in Cary Park Reddenhill Rd Torquay.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained. Enquiries are ongoing and police would like to speak with a group of males aged 18-22 who were in the park at approximately 0200 hours on 22nd May.

Woman robbed and assaulted in Heavitree

Police are appealing to dog walkers in the Heavitree area of Exeter who may have witnessed a robbery.

On Wednesday, 11th May a woman, in her twenties, was robbed and assaulted as she walked her dog in Hamlin Lane playing fields between 6pm and 7pm.

The woman was pushed to the floor and suffered a number of minor cuts when the suspect used a sharp object to attack her. She did not require medical treatment but was very shaken.

Detectives have launched an investigation following the death of a 57-year-old woman in Brixham.

Police and ambulance were called at 11am on Wednesday 11 May after a local woman was found deceased in a field in Gattery Lane.

Detectives from the Major rime Investigation Team have launched an enquiry to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time.

Police investigating the garden at the former home of a paedophile couple, who knew serial killers Fred and Rose West, have confirmed that nothing of significance has been found and the investigation is now complete.

Police are seeking witnesses after a woman was racially abused in Exeter on Bank Holiday Monday night [2 May].

The woman, who was wearing a hijab, was approached by a man while she waited at the bus stop outside Evans store in the High Street around 9.50pm.

He subjected her to verbal abuse using racist language before following her onto the bus using threatening behaviour.

Eight men were jailed on Wednesday 4 May for a total of 34 years for defrauding elderly people out of approximately £1 million.

The gang from London and the South East were convicted at the Old Bailey following a Met Police investigation into the ‘Bank of Terror’ conmen responsible from defrauding victims in Devon and Cornwall and across the country.

Police are continuing to investigate the garden at the former home of a paedophile couple, who knew serial killers Fred and Rose West.
