Eerie orange faces are hidden around Killerton’s hillside garden ready for brave explorers to find.
To celebrate the Hallowe’en season and to coincide with half-term, daily pumpkin trails will take over the colourful autumn garden on the National Trust estate near Exeter from Saturday 24 October until Sunday 1 November.
Explorers will be searching high and low to tick off each pumpkin face on the trail. Along the way, there will be chances to get off the beaten track to discover secret paths, as well as the Bear’s Hut and Ice House.
It’s harvest! and to celebrate West Town Farm are holding their annual apple and pumpkin day!
Amongst the activities taking place are tractor and trailer rides, straw bale den, animals, stories, crafts, barbecue, campfire cooking and lots more..
Explore the free trail to spot pumpkin faces hiding around the garden. Make a day of it and go off the beaten track to discover secret paths, the Bear’s hut and the ice house. An eight-year-old fundraiser has won a Hallowe'en pumpkin carving competition with a not so scary creation that wowed the Lord Mayor of Exeter.
Raising money for charity Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), the Southgate Mercure Exeter Hotel gave out pumpkins to guests, businesses, supporters of the charity and others.
Amongst the many entries Hannah Sparkes, who uses the charity’s Little Harbour Hospice, in St Austell, won the children’s competition with her striking creation, which featured a huge smile beneath purple, pink and white hair.
Pumpkin kits are on their way to local businesses as part of a competition to help raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West.
For the second year running, the Mercure Southgate Exeter is holding a pumpkin carving competition, inviting Exeter residents, businesses, hotel guests, spa and leisure club members to get creative for charity.
Hotel manager Fiona Darde said: “We’re looking for people to get creative and help raise money for Children’s Hospice South West. Last year we had a fantastic response, ranging from quirky and fun to truly inspiring and scary.
