Just two posts on BBC Devon’s Facebook page about the departure of Judi Spiers have attracted almost 1,000 comments.
Meanwhile, another 1,000 people have backed a campaign called @bringbackjudi on Facebook and Twitter.
It appears that although BBC bosses had hoped the crescendo of complaints would die down after Judi’s last show, on Friday, they appear to be gaining momentum.
The target for most of the criticism is the station’s managing editor, Mark Grinnell.

Hospital Radio Exeter has been awarded £7,690 in funding by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.
The volunteer run radio station which is based at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital in Exeter currently provides more than 40 hours per week of varied programmes including the famous request shows to hospital patients.
Malcolm Mardon from Hospital Radio Exeter said: “This funding will allow us to update our second studio to allow more shows to be recorded and broadcast, and to allow interviews to take place.

British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information following an incident which took place at Newton Abbot railway station.
Officers have today released CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which took place at about 1.20pm on Monday, 1 September 2014.
Investigating officer, PC David Browning, said: “On Monday, 1 September 2014 two women were travelling by train towards Torquay. They arrived at Newton Abbot Station but failed to get off the service they were on until it was ready to depart towards Totnes.
Emergency crews were called to a petrol station in Rockbeare near Exeter today after a car crashed in to two pumps.
The incident happened at just past midnight. No one was trapped and one casualty was transported to hospital by ambulance.
A fire appliance from Middlemoor attended and used a foam jet as a precautionary measure and made the vehicle safe.

An 80 year old friend insisted on a journey from Madrid to Exeter via Bristol airport, arriving in Exeter at 4 am today. A taxi was booked for her, but she needed to get to it across the road. Unbidden, an employee at the bus station asked her how she was getting home and escorted her and her luggage across to the waiting Gemini taxi. Yes, I know that is what should happen - but well done to the often maligned bus station staff for looking after her so well.
