Beyond Face Presents: A New Writing Scratch Night

Since April 2021, Beyond Face has run a Writers’ group for global majority writers from across the South-West called We are Here to Write. Now in its 2nd year, this event showcases their work.

Expect monologues and two-handers from multiple genres, thrillers, comedy and state of the nation plays that will challenge, entertain and invigorate, performed script-in-hand by local actors. After its sell-out success at London's Omnibus Theatre, Ella Dorman-Gajic’s Trade comes to Exeter Pheonix for one exclusive night on 6th April, as part of a UK Tour. Trade explores the fate of a young woman plunged into a perilous underground world, spanning post-war Bosnia to the UK.

Trade was awarded an OffComm by the revered OFFIE Awards, and was hailed as “a thought-provoking and purpose-driven play, portraying the traditionally victimised protagonist in a more realistic light, making her relevant and sympathetic” by North West End.

Rockefeller Productions have announced the principle cast for their musical stage adaptation of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh , which runs at Exeter Northcott Theatre between 22 – 23 August.

The UK and Ireland premiere will begin performances at London’s Riverside Studios (Hammersmith) from 17 March, with an official opening on 26 March. The show will then tour the UK and Ireland until September 2023. Tickets for Riverside Studios and the UK & Ireland Tour are now on sale.

Exeter Northcott hits target of gifting 500 Christmas theatre tickets and extends goal to 750

Exeter Northcott Theatre has launched a new stretch goal of gifting 750 tickets for its family Christmas show Robin Hood to children and young people in Devon through its Pay It Forward donation campaign by the end of this year, having reached its initial aim of giving away 500 tickets.

The Northcott’s Pay It Forward campaign, now in its third year, asks audience members to donate towards the cost of a theatre ticket for children and young people who would not otherwise be able to go.

Between January and October this year, 766 people donated £7,392 towards the campaign...
