From 10th to 17th February, Waterstones Roman Gate bookshop in Exeter will host Love Your Bookshop Week - a series of special events to include author signings, children’s activities, a Big Book Lover’s Quiz night and competitions - to be held in celebration of the shop’s re-launch.

On Tuesday 18th July best selling author, Rachel Joyce, will be reading from and signing her brand new novel The Music Shop. The reading and signing will be at Waterstones Exeter Roman Gate (by John Lewis) at 7pm. On Saturday 8th July 2017, the Waterstones Torquay team invites customers to join them in celebrating the launch of their new bookshop and café.
Waterstones are returning to their former premises on Union Street, with a team of 9 booksellers and baristas led by bookshop manager Paul Stevenson.

On Saturday 8th October, Waterstones at Roman Gate will celebrate the launch of its new bookshop café with a day of family entertainment.
The launch will be a community event with the opportunity for customers to meet some of the café’s local suppliers and to enjoy a free hot drink with every cake purchase*. Roman Legionaries will patrol the bookshop courtesy of Living History Group Leg II Avg and popular local jazz quartet City Steam Jazz Band will perform live instore. Storytelling and face painting will keep the children entertained.
Author Helen Dunmore, who recently released her new book “Exposure”, will be visiting Waterstones on Exeter High Street to discuss her latest novel.
Dunmore, who previously authored books such as “The Siege” (2001), “The Betrayal” (2010) and “The Lie” (2014), will attend the book store on Thursday 2nd June 2016 at 6:30pm to introduce and read from “Exposure.”
Those who wish to attend the event will be charged £3.00 to enter, though this will be redeemable against the price of the book on the night.

Meet Lola Pug at Waterstones on Saturday 6th February at 2pm, Waterstones High St Brand, Exeter.
Lola Pug is a charming illustrated children's book by Carina Lagnado. Lola comes to live in a village but is not fully understood by humans and animals alike, due to her unusual appearance.
Over time, Lola wins everyone over with her joyful character.
This book touches on the issue of acceptance and for children to understand how character always wins over appearances.
As part of Dyslexia Awareness Week 2015, Tom McLaughlin, children’s author and illustrator will be hosting a story time session at Waterstones in Exeter (High Street branch).
Tom will be showcasing showcasing two of his children’s books by Bloomsbury Publishing, as well as sharing his own personal experiences of dyslexia on Monday 5 October.
At the story session, Tom, who is local to Exeter, will be reading from The Story Machine and The Cloudspotter.
