The Devon County Show on May 16-18 at Westpoint, Exeter, is a fabulous celebration of our great British countryside and a brilliant day out to boot.

There’s magnificent livestock, wonderful food and drink, inspiring flower and garden displays, marvellous crafts, a huge country life area, and lots of traditional entertainmentand avenues of trade stands offering a wealth of goods.

Diggerland JCB Stunt Team will be strutting their stuff in the Mole Valley Farmers Main Arena performing amazing routines, including ‘hand stands’.

In the woodland area Savage Skills – the UK's leading mountain bike and BMX extreme freestyle display team - will be demonstrating their stunts and giving advice to budding cyclists.

It will be a case of little and large in the cattle classes as the Show hosts the national shows of Britain’s largest native breed, the South Devons, and its smallest, the Dexters.

However, whilst the diminutive Dexter and the gentle giant South Devon might have little in common in terms of stature, they share the distinction of being among the fastest-growing breeds in the country, and nowhere more so than in the South West.

One of the many highlights is the spread of wonderful local food and drink showcased by local celebrity chefs. There will be celebratory real ales and traditional ciders and award-winning artisan foods as well as magnificent meat.

Those who love country sports will enjoy gundog scurries, heavy horse demonstrations, falconry, terrier racing and working dog displays. 

There will also be top class show-jumping, fantastically fast sheep shearing, vintage tractors and steam engines, classic cars and motorcycles, a magnificent  metal work feature and shoeing forge, wonderful examples of pigeons, rabbits, guinea pigs and poultry - so much to see and do, you may need to visit on more than one day to take it all in!
