Exeter’s Christmas buzz has started and is growing as the advent calendar windows open day upon day. Then at last the final long awaited window introduces the excitement of the wondrous day.  The special day marking the birth of a baby cradled in a manger, whose coming gifted us Christmas, enabling us to  celebrate its real meaning  as an opportunity for joy. One of those opportunities is attending Exeter and District Mencap Society in conjunction with Celebrate Together, Exeter’s Church for the city’s differently-abled community, annual Carol service at South Street Baptist Church, South Street, Exeter.

This joyful occasion takes place On Sunday 11 December at 5.30pm followed by refreshments.

The Exeter and District Mencap Society and Celebrate Together support those with learning disabilities treating each as a valued member of society together with their families and carers. It is a continuous, big task performed by big hearted people who demonstrate a wonderful and patient care. They enable people with learning difficulties to make their own contribution to life. Indeed, at this interactive carol service they will be reading the Christmas story, playing music and sharing in the prayers. The service is friendly and informal and suitable for anyone who has learning difficulties.

The Exeter and District Mencap Society, Celebrate Together and South Street Baptist Church offer a warm hearted welcome to this unique and happy event.
