Exeter's Fun Palace
On 1st and 2nd October, Exeter Library will be hosting Devon’s largest Fun Palace, a free place for everyone to join in and celebrate creativity, art, science and culture within the community.
An exciting programme of creative events and workshops will be held throughout the weekend, ranging from laughter yoga and experimental music machines to printing workshops, computer and business support sessions and storytelling and sign language.
Exeter Library‘s Fun Palace will kick off on Saturday 1st October from 9am when the Bibliotherapy Room will be open, using books and literature to promote good mental health. Literary quizzes, one to one sessions with library staff and Books on Prescription will be on offer for anyone looking to try something new.
The rest of the day is packed full of events including board games, experimental and electronic music machines, laughter yoga, learning to code using a credit card sized computer and sign language workshops. The last event of the day is a storytelling session for all at 3pm, suitable for anyone aged from seven to 120 years old!
On Sunday 2nd October at 12pm, children aged six and upwards are invited to Exeter’s Fab Lab to help create a Geodesic Dome. At the same time, the Met Office is inviting people to try their hand at storm forecasting and at 2pm there is a choice of laughter yoga, a poetry and science workshop or a bounce and rhyme session.
