Students from Exeter College have been celebrating success following the National BTEC Awards 2019.

A total of nine Exeter College students were recognised at an awards ceremony that took place in Westminster in July. The event celebrates exceptional BTEC students and apprentices while also shining a light on the inspirational teachers who have influenced their learning.

Exeter College’s Luke Bearpark was crowned Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Student of the Year with Abbie Densham being awarded Science Student of the Year.

An outdoor education centre in Devon is celebrating after being served up an award which recognises its commitment to providing fresh, healthy and nutritious meals to visitors. Devon flood protection schemes win ICE South West awards

Two Devon flood protection projects, which were engineered to protect communities and rail services, have both scooped awards at the Institution of Civil Engineers South West (ICE South West) awards ceremony.

The ‘Collaboration Award’ was given to a project that has reduced flooding risks for over 650 properties in the communities of Starcross and Cockwood, located on the shores of the Exe Estuary. Sarah Daniel from RGB Building Supplies is celebrating after winning the Independent Rising Star of the Year Award at the prestigious BMJ Industry Awards 2019, her second national honour within the past seven months.

Chunk, a Devon based pie and pasty maker, have won the much-coveted award of Champion Pasty at the 2019 British Pies Awards for the second time. Chunk’s award-winning recipe won the award back in 2009 – and caused a bit of a stir (to say the least!) with their neighbours in Cornwall.
