Tilia Homes secures planning permission for new development of 80 homes in Exeter
Tilia Homes, part of the untypical group, has been granted planning permission for a development comprising 80 much needed homes on land at Exwick Lane, Redhills, Exeter.
Exeter City Council Planning Committee has approved the proposal for the construction of 52 private dwellings and 28 affordable homes at Redhill Gardens.
The development will offer a range of 2, 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes, catering to first-time buyers, families, and downsizers alike. Construction is set to commence in spring 2025.
Redhill Gardens will feature quality, energy-efficient homes that take inspiration from the picturesque surroundings of Redhills. All houses will be built using timber frame construction, emphasising Tilia Homes’ ongoing commitment to sustainable building practices. Furthermore, this will be the region’s first development to incorporate air source heat pumps throughout.
Ben Smith, Technical Director at Tilia Homes, Western said: "We’re really pleased to have secured planning permission for our reserved matters application at Redhill Gardens. By utilising timber frame construction and air source heat pumps, we’re focused on reducing our environmental impact while delivering quality affordable new homes for the Exeter community."
Redhill Gardens will include significant ecological enhancements such as translocating hedgerows to promote biodiversity and provide early visual screening from surrounding areas. New public spaces will also be created, including play facilities that will benefit both new and existing residents.
Located conveniently close to various amenities - including shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés - Redhill Gardens also benefits from proximity to good schools and commuter links, making it an attractive option for a wide range of homebuyers.
