Linzi scales heights for charity

Throughout her career, Linzi who works for CPS in Exeter, has encountered various crimes and witnessed the effect that crimes can have on individuals.

Linzi wanted to raise money to help victims and witnesses of crime to find the strength to move beyond the crime with the support from Victim Support; raising awareness, that there are people who care, a confidential ear, an unbiased listener, practical help during court hearings, or subsequent to court hearings for example assisting with medical treatment or getting rehoused.

And so on Saturday 8th April, Linzi took the plunge, not only one but twice to raise monies for charities close to her heart, abseiling down Uphill Quarry near Weston-Super-Mare; one with an 80 foot decent and another with 100+ foot decent in aid of Victim Support and the Kingsmead Trust for international education, an amazing charity that provides an opportunity to children in both Kitwe, Zambia and at Kingsmead School, Wiveliscombe.

On completion, Linzi said “It was an amazing experience, it was definitely a challenge and an adrenaline rush going over the edge backwards, and I now ache, but it was 100% worth it. In total I managed to raise £293.50 for Victim Support and £237.50 for the Kingsmead Trust. I would like to thank everyone for their support and donations.”
