Fifty thousand tickets for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter were released at 8am today during The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw - with more free tickets than ever available to local people living in Exeter and Teignbridge.
Twenty five thousand eagerly-anticipated tickets were available for each day of the two-day event which takes place at Powderham Castle on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May.
The lucky ticket-holders will enjoy performances from the likes of Coldplay, Ellie Goulding, The 1975, Chase And Status, Bring Me The Horizon, Craig David and Jake Bugg....

Gemfest is back for it’s fourth year of festival fundraising.
The last three events saw over £15,000 raised for Hospiscare and The Brain Tumour Charity.
Organised by a local brain tumour ‘survivor’ and her friends, the daytime event (11am-4pm) is packed with family activities, while in the evening we’ll be hosting a variety of live music and entertainment from 6pm. The magnificent nave of Exeter Cathedral, which houses the longest continuous vaulted ceiling in Europe, is to return to its medieval roots for the hosting of a Spring Fair. The event is sponsored by Bonhams and takes place on Thursday 10th March 2016.
