This year's Christmas Market in Exeter will run from Thursday 21 November until Thursday 19 December, on Cathedral Green. The Christmas lights ceremony will also take place on 21 November from 4pm-8pm, with Rob Baxter, Exeter Chiefs' Head Coach; Paul Tisdale, Manager of Exeter City Football Club and members of the Lympstone Military Wives Choir taking centre stage to jointly switch on the city’s Christmas lights during the event at 6.30pm.

Exeter Craft Festival: celebrating the West Country's finest crafts

An annual craft festival is currently being held on Exeter's Cathedral Green with tents as far as the eye can see, stalls selling everything from handbags to garden plants there's something for everyone at the fair.

A variety of live music is played on the Green giving the fair its own soundtrack as people browse the stalls. There's a good old fashioned Punch and Judy show, a magician and a face-painting stall for the kids - for once they won't be moaning about wanting to go home.

The Craft Festival on Exeter’s Cathedral Green has been taking place every summer for over 30 years.

About 100 craftsmen and women from all over Devon come together to exhibit and sell their beautiful high quality art and craft.

Enjoy this diversity of skills in the wonderful setting of Cathedral Green. Two days await with live music, dancing and children's entertainment. Fun for everyone!

Open Friday 10am-6pm and on Saturday 9.30am-5pm.

Questions raised after a dozen police arrest homeless man

Questions have been raised as to why Devon and Cornwall Police dispatched around a dozen police officers to arrest a homeless man.

Pictures and a video have emerged showing the man being handcuffed and carried away.

One charity worker who witnessed the incident told The Exeter Daily the response was "completely over the top".

Dedicate a light for a loved one in the heart of Exeter

At this time of year, many people’s thoughts will be turning towards the past, particularly to memories of lost loved ones.

One way to honour the memory of a lost loved one is by dedicating a light on the Hospiscare Tree of Light which will be situated on Cathedral Green.

The Tree of Light will be on Cathedral Green in Exeter. The Tree will be shining with lights given in dedication and will be lit every evening at dusk. The Book of Memories can be viewed at each church during each of the services, for full details see below....

Armed Forces Day celebrations in Exeter

The Lord Mayor of Exeter and the Lord Lieutenant of Devon, Eric Dancer, will be "raising the flag" at Exeter Guildhall at 11am to show support for the country's military community, retired and serving, at home and abroad including the cadet forces.

The ceremony will mark the start of a Grand Parade through the city by representatives from all the armed forces accompanied by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, The Band of 6 Rifles, and The Corps of Drums from the Devon Army Cadet Force.
