A play with difference premiers in Exmouth

Local playwright Clive Essame has seen his play ‘Impisi’ performed by CEDA at the Exmouth Pavilion.

The cast, playwright Clive and director Anthony Richards worked together to put on a spectacular performance of the play ‘Impisi’ which is set in the African wilderness at Exmouth Pavilion.

The performance told the heartwarming story of a lion who became injured, the lion has to overcome his disability and learn to hunt again. Despite being mocked and teased by some of the animals the lion makes an unlikely ally with a hyena who helps him to accept his difference.

Disabled musicians showcase their talents

On Wednesday 20 August, shoppers in Princesshay will have the opportunity to hear and appreciate the talents of members of CEDA, an Exeter-based charity for disabled people.

Supermarket customers will have the opportunity to have a go at table cricket when disabled people’s charity CEDA launch their new partnership with Sainsbury’s Alphington Road on Thursday 31 July.

Devon adoption agency looking for families to adopt children with disabilities and special needs

Approximately 40 per cent of children waiting for an adoptive family have impairment or some form of special need or disability. Family for Me is a new project launched by local adoption agency Families for Children which hopes not only to raise awareness of the children who are waiting the longest but to specifically recruit adoptive families for these children. Tuesday 18 February will be a big day for CEDA, Exeter's local charity providing services for disabled people.

From 11am until 2pm the organisation will be showing off the achievements of its users from the past year along with giving all visitors to their BIG Challenge event the chance to try something different. Hollow Lane Club celebrates Lottery Success

The Hollow Lane Club, based at Ellen Tinkham School in Exeter, has been awarded over £100,000 of lottery funding. The award, which runs for three years, will help fund an annual Summer Club as well as regular After School and Saturday sessions for children with physical and learning disabilities in Devon.
