ELF Runners enjoy evening with Jo Pavey

Exeter Leukaemia Fund were delighted to welcome special guest, Olympian and ELF Vice Patron, Jo Pavey, to their second Let’s Talk Running event which was held at the Buckerell Lodge Hotel on Tuesday 23 July.

The events are held for runners of all abilities who are currently training to run an event in aid of ELF, have run for ELF in the past, or are interested in running for ELF in the future.

Big Noise Chorus and Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra Summer Concert

Exeter Lions Club in association with The Big Noise Chorus and the Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra are pleased to announce a big spectacular concert on Friday 26 July 2013 at the Great Hall, Exeter University, at 7.30pm.

The Big Noise Chorus is made up of over 300 singers from four choruses, two of which are from Exeter and one each from Plymouth and Torquay. Each year their musical director, Colin Rae, combines all 4 choruses to provide a spectacular concert with over 300 singers performing a wide range of different genres.

Your old unwanted scrap car can help ELF!

Three years ago, Exeter Leukaemia Fund was one of the first charities to join forces with Giveacar, which was a new non-profit social enterprise that encourages car owners to scrap or sell their old unwanted cars in a professional manner, giving the proceeds to the charity of their choice. From small beginnings like ELF, Giveacar has grown from dealing with 7 cars per month to 50 per week. Recently they reached a milestone of £1 million donated to charities all over the UK, with Giveacar receiving many awards. ELF announce latest Ambassador Award recipient

Exeter Leukaemia Fund is delighted to announce that Ottery St Mary resident, Mary Andrews, is the latest recipient of the ELF Ambassador Award.

Mary has been an ELF volunteering stalwart for many years, helping out at raffles, table top sales, summer shows, collection box responsibilities, as well as being an integral member of her local ELF group. This is in addition to her annual coffee morning which has raised many hundreds of pounds over the last 7 years. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for Mary, always eager to support and help when and where possible.

ELF Day – we need YOUR HELP!

Exeter Leukaemia Fund are holding holding a street collection and awareness day in the High Street, Exeter on Saturday 30th November and are looking for people to help!

We need volunteers to don one of our lovely green tabards and stand at a given point along the High Street with one of our collection buckets to collect monetary donations from the public, reporting to a volunteer co-ordinator. The collection period will be 9am until 6pm, split into two hour shifts with slightly shorter shifts at lunch time.

Every Vote Counts for ELF!

Exeter Leukaemia Fund is delighted to have been nominated as one of the three charities to gain from Chelsea Building Society’s ‘Charity Choice’ Scheme. Members of Chelsea Building Society and the general public are being encouraged to pop into the South Street, Exeter branch, between 25th October and 8th November to vote for charities to receive their Charitable Foundation’s support. The amount donated to each charity will be calculated after the voting period; the charity with the most votes will receive a donation of £500, the second most popular £300 and third £200.
