Local chefs and hospitality professionals will come together with catering students from South Devon College and City College Plymouth on June 24th at Kitley House Hotel and Restaurant, near Yealmpton.

The special event, organised by The Chefs’ Forum, will see chefs and front-of-house staff from across the county rub shoulders with catering suppliers and aspiring college students. Tesco customers in Exeter donate more than 11,000 meals this Christmas

Kind-hearted customers at Tesco stores across Exeter have donated thousands of meals to people in need this Christmas.

Shoppers gave 11,171 meals for food charities FareShare and The Trussell Trust during the Tesco Food Collection, which ran in stores in Exeter from 29 November to 1 December.

Customers were asked to donate long-life items to help people in need as part of their usual shop. With this year’s UK-wide total of 3.5 million meals donated to the charities, the overall total given by shoppers since the Tesco Food Collection scheme began in 2012 is more than 52...

Devon is truly magnificent. At last night’s annual Food Drink Devon Awards the pinnacle of the county’s food and drink producers, hospitality businesses and speciality retailers celebrated in fantastic style at the Highbullen Hotel Golf & Country Club. The ceremony was hosted, for the fourth year running, by food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden.

There was fierce competition in the ‘Taste of Devon Producer Awards’. In the coveted ‘Best Producer’ Award, Hanlons Brewery was announced the winner with Otter Vale Products claiming the ‘Best Brand’ Award.

Taste of the West’s New Food Village arrives in Exmouth

From Thai-inspired ice cream, to locally-bred pork, the new food village at the Queen’s Drive Space on Exmouth sea front is proving a huge hit with locals and visitors alike.

The new attraction, which is being run by Taste of the West, has already attracted hundreds of visitors, keen to sample some of the tastiest produce from the region, in its first month of operation.
