A group of dedicated young people, the Macula Collective, have been out in all weathers, all through the winter capturing images of Heavitree Pleasure Grounds - IN THE DARK! This project was commissioned by the people of Heavitree themselves as part of the Heavitree Squilometre project and we're pleased present the results of this youth-focused work in a pop-up Exhibition in Heavitree Park.
The Exhibition will also include images from other memory and reminiscence work from other members of the Heavitree Community who were keen to share what the Park means to them.
With New Year’s resolutions of better health and fitness for 2017 firmly in focus, an astonishing 65 Exeter residents turned up in the first week of January to try out a new Couch to 5k beginner running group in Heavitree.

The running group was set up by Park Life Heavitree, a community organisation based in and around Heavitree Pleasure Ground. They were granted funding to provide new opportunities for residents in Heavitree to be active, by Get Active Exeter, the local health and wellbeing partnership...

“As soon as I enter Exeter Cathedral I make a beeline for Liz for a cuddle and a catch up!”
It’s not me being talked about but Liz, one of our amazing bereavement supporter volunteers. I was at Hospiscare’s Light Up A Life Service in the cathedral and met a lady who comes along every year.
She comes for two reasons, to remember her mum and catch up with Liz. When her mum died she found that our care continues with a dedicated support volunteer.
It was the first time I had attended this service and it was exactly as everyone had described to me; a lovely evening of...
