Summer Sunday train services return from 20 May

Summer Sunday trains to and from Okehampton will return later this month.

The Great Western Railway (GWR) service, funded by Devon County Council, will run four trains each way between Okehampton and Exeter every Sunday, from Sunday 20 May to Sunday 9 September.

The service, which launched in 1997, is part of the ongoing efforts to re-introduce regular services on the line.

Christopher Hunt, 34, from Dartmouth has been unemployed for an extended period of time after being diagnosed with stomach cancer. After receiving the all clear, Christopher was keen to get back into the work place.

Police investigate suspected drug-related death of two Devon teenagers

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two Devon teenagers in Plymouth.

Police were informed by ambulance at around 1.40am on Saturday 9 December of two men unconscious at Pryzm nightclub in Plymouth.

Two 19-year-old men, one from Okehampton and one from Newton Abbot were taken to Derriford Hospital where they both later died.

Next of kin have been informed, but formal ID for the pair has yet to have taken place.

An 18-year-old man is currently in police custody and awaits questioning in relation to this matter.
