Ethical chef Robin Rea will be cooking up a storm in aid of the Devon Freewheelers blood bike charity at Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary on November 29.
The special event will raise funds for the charity, which provides a free out-of-hours service to the NHS to deliver blood and other medical requirements to hospitals across the county and beyond via motorbikes ridden by volunteer riders.

The Rusty Pig once again provided a takeaway for revellers at Tar Barrels to fundraise for the Carnival Committee. The outside catering in a converted cattle trailer on Mill Street was manned by chef Joe Draper from Ashburton. Joe and his helpers served up wood fired spicy mutton flat bread accompanied by Rusty Pig’s homemade feta cheese, garlic and herb sauce and pickled red onions. Nine brave souls had their heads shaved at the Volunteer Inn in Ottery St Mary, raising over £2,000 for charity CLIC Sargent.
Michelle Broadhurst, Roger Strike, Ed Winson, Jason Osborne, Andy Broadhurst, Carl Creek, Andy Russell, Mark Oke and Fran Lea all offered up their locks to hairdresser Sandi Scott and her team. The fundraising was supplemented by a raffle and cake sale.

The landlady of a popular Ottery pub was over the moon to learn her kitchen has achieved the top rating of five for food hygiene. Jacqui Down says she was ‘chuffed’ to receive the rating from the Food Standards Agency last week.
“We’ve recently finished the first stage of refurbishment in the pub, including a new dining area so more customers can enjoy a meal with us, so this is welcome news,” Jacqui said.
“As the pub’s chef, food hygiene is of the highest importance to me, and it’s really satisfying to have my own standards reinforced by a recognised organisation.”...
Police officers from Ottery St Mary are reminding people to take their personal items with them after a parked car was broken into and valuables stolen.
The theft took place just before 3pm and 4.30pm on Thursday 13 August at White Cross Cark Park, East Hill, Ottery St Mary.
A blue Nissan X-Trail had the window smashed and personal items worth over a thousand pounds was stolen.
Amongst the items stolen was a pink iPhone 5, a black Mulberry wallet, Pierre Cardin glasses, a large blue leather handbag, cash and credit cards.
