Tickety-Boo in Ottery St Mary has welcomed a new front of house manager to the team.
Zoe Blackmore has taken the reins at the coffee shop and children’s play kingdom in Mill Street after Jane North decided to return to her previous role as a Teaching Assistant.
Zoe, from Ottery, has been working at Tickety-Boo part time since it opened. She brings with her a wealth of experience including a 15-year stint at the Tesco staff canteen, where she was Team Leader, and is well known locally as she has also worked at the Kings Arms.

A once-vacant building in the heart of Ottery St Mary in East Devon has been given a new lease of life as a stylish café and children’s play kingdom.
Tickety-Boo is the brainchild of East Devon businessman Stuart Phillips, who came up with the concept after purchasing the old Millstone Bakery site in Mill Street.
The venue combines a café serving barista made coffee and a wide range of home cooked food with a unique play zone for children up to the age of 11 featuring a treehouse, castle and sweet shop – all handcrafted by local tradespeople.
Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary is holding a ‘Dexter’ event on August Bank Holiday weekend, to highlight the importance of local sourcing.
The Dexter beef will be served as super-sized steak and chips cooked in beef dripping at the ethical restaurant in Yonder Street on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August.

A man has died following a collision near Ottery St Mary.
At around 6.38pm on Thursday evening (16 June) police were alerted to a serious road traffic collision just off the A30 at the Daisymount roundabout on the B3174, near Ottery St Mary at around 6.38pm on Thursday evening (16 June).
A white Nissan Kubistar van, travelling from Ottery St Mary had been involved in a single vehicle collision.
Fire and ambulance emergency services were also at the scene. The road was closed and was reopened shortly before midnight.

The kitchen team at Otter Nurseries in Ottery St Mary is over the moon after their homemade raspberry jam scooped gold at this year’s Taste of the West Awards.
