Family Day at Exeter Racecourse on Wednesday (March 30), sponsored by Finlake Holiday Park, will be a feast of education and entertainment that is free for all children aged 17 and under.

Two pony races begin the day’s action at 1pm followed by seven races. Interspersed with that will be a behind the scenes tour of the racecourse starting atnoon – meet outside the weighing room - led by Rob Bellamy of Racing To School. Finance in the South West event

Francis Clark’s annual Finance in the South West event, now in its 4th year running, will be taking place on Tuesday 23rd February from 08:00 to 14:00 at Exeter Racecourse.

The Seminar brings together specialists representing funding and business support available to businesses in the Heart of the South West LEP area. This year the keynote speaker will be Radio 4 business and economics journalist Jonty Bloom.

Research has indicated that there is a significant funding gap between funding available from traditional sources of funding and actual business requirements.

Mid Winter Racing at Exeter Racecourse

Racing continues at Exeter next Tuesday (January 19) with its mid winter fixture when hats, gloves and scarves will be the order of the day for those enjoying a day of sporting action.

Racing UK sponsor the six race card which begins at 1.35pm with a two mile maiden hurdle. Other races include a mares’ handicap hurdle, a novices’ handicap chase, a two mile three furlong handicap chase, a handicap hurdle and a maiden hurdle.

The UK's largest racecourse group attracted record numbers of people to enjoy a day at the races during the last year, according to new figures published today by Jockey Club Racecourses which show in 2015 its total attendances surpassed 1.9 million for the first time ever. Exeter Racecourse, which is part of Jockey Club Racecourses, saw attendances increase by 6,653. Its flagship racedays include the Haldon Gold Cup, New Year’s Day, Devon Day and its popular Super Sunday meeting in February while Jockey Club Racecourses runs the likes of the Cheltenham Festival, the Crabbie’s Grand...

New Year’s Day racing at Exeter Racecouse

New Year’s Day racing on Haldon Hill is a much loved Devon tradition and hundreds of people will gather at the racecourse to enjoy the excitement and camaraderie of a day at the races.

Caravan destroyed by fire near Exeter

A caravan was destroyed by fire at Exeter Racecourse this morning.

One fire fighting appliance from Middlemoor and an appliance from Danes Castle attended reports of a caravan on fire at Exeter Racecourse on Haldon Hill just after 7.40am.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “Upon arrival, crews found one touring caravan completely destroyed by fire, crews used one main jet and two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.

“It is believed that it is accidental.”

New Year’s Day racing at Exeter Racecourse

Exeter Racecourse looks set to share in jump racing’s success story with pre-sales for its traditional New Year’s Day meeting ahead of its last January 1 fixture in 2012.
