Echo owners in talks over sale

Trinity Mirror has confirmed it is in talks about a takeover of regional newspaper group Local World which owns Exeter's Express & Echo and the Western Morning News.

The company is reportedly considering a deal worth £200m to acquire the remaining 80% of the group it does not own from investors including Daily Mail owner DMGT – which owns a 39% stake in the company – and Yattendon Group.

A new survey carried out by Reeds Rains estate agents has found that in Britain, 47% of people take between 1-5 minutes to form an impression of a property which they are viewing while others take less than 30 seconds. A five mile-plus stretch of one of the West Country’s most famous game fishing rivers running through Dartmoor has come up for sale through fisheries sales experts Fenn Wright.
