A number of iconic phone boxes in Teignbridge have been Grade II listed and protected from removal thanks to a successful approach to Historic England from Teignbridge District Council.
Under the threat of removal following a consultation exercise from British Telecom, the Council’s heritage officers contacted Historic England listing several of the district’s iconic K6 red phone boxes that met strict listing criteria for consideration.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision between a car and a six-year-old girl in Teignmouth.
Emergency services were called at 4.55pm yesterday [4 April] after the collision between a Ford Ranger pick-up and the child in Bitton Park Road near to First Avenue.
The girl, from Teignmouth, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Bristol Royal Infirmary. Her injuries are not believed life-threatening or life-changing.

Residents have been playing their part in improving street cleanliness, with the first monthly winner of Teignbridge District Council’s ‘Operation Stack’ recycling campaign announced.
Mrs Sylvia Mills from Kingskerswell was drawn as November’s winner of a recycling goody bag, containing a set of recycling wine glasses, leftover recipe book and various food waste reducers. The campaign has already seen over 400 thank you cards randomly issued to residents who have been stacking their recycling boxes and food waste containers on collection days.
