A380 closed following fatal collision

Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision on the A380 Torquay Road.

Police were called at around 1.30am today Sunday 26th July to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on the A380 Torquay Road near to its junction with Aller Brake Road.

On arrival officers found a male pedestrian having sustained fatal injuries, after being involved in a collision with a vehicle which has failed to stop.

At this time the man, believed to be aged in his 30’s has not been identified but officers are carrying out extensive enquires to do so...

Building destroyed by fire near Exeter Airport

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received calls to reports of a derelict building on fire on the Old A30 adjacent to Exeter Airport at 7.41pm yesterday (Sat).

One fire appliance from Middlemoor, one from Danes Castle and one from Ottery St Mary were dispatched along with the water carrier from Torquay.

Upon arrival crews confirmed one derelict agriculture building measuring 30M x 10M well alight and requested an additional fire appliance for water and manpower, this was mobilised from Danes Castle. Crews set to work to extinguish the fire using two main jets....

Police in South Devon are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a bus.

The incident occurred between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on Thursday 23rd April whilst the victim, a 17 year old female travelled on a No.12 Stagecoach bus, between Paignton and Newton Abbot.

When the bus stopped at the Arcades near to Fleet Walk, Torquay, an unidentified man was talking to the driver. As the bus continued its journey between Torquay and Newton Abbot, the victim sat upstairs at the very front of the bus when she was joined by this man.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a serious collision in Ipplepen, Devon, which left five people injured.

Police, fire and ambulance crews and the air ambulance were called to a collision between two cars, a silver coloured MG and red Ford Focus, on the A381 Totnes Road at 1pm 10 April.

The occupants of the MG, a woman and two young children, sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. The woman driver was taken to Derriford with serious but not life threatening injuries.
