Exeter Airport has echoed the call of the Airport Operators Association (AOA) and its Chief Executive, Karen Dee, on the UK Government to take action to protect jobs and support the aviation sector through this unprecedented crisis, following the release of new analysis into the effect of COVID-19 on the aviation industry which concludes the impacts are focussed at UK regional airports, with these airports experiencing slower bounce back, with greater lost demand and lost connectivity.

Exeter Airport announces Exeter-Belfast City Airport route

Exeter Airport is to see the introduction of a service to Belfast City Airport from 28 August 2020 it was announced today.

Stobart Air, operator of Aer Lingus Regional, will base five ATR72-600 aircraft at Belfast City Airport.

The airline will operate up to 4 weekly return flights from Exeter Airport to Belfast City Airport this autumn with fares starting from £34.99 one way including taxes.

This commencement of this new route marks the only flight from Exeter to the island of Ireland with Aer Lingus Regional as a new airline at Exeter Airport.

National Express will fully suspend its national network of scheduled coach services with effect from midnight Sunday 5 April 2020.

Highways teams dealing with Storm Ciara aftermath

Devon County Council’s highways teams are continuing to work around the clock to deal with the aftermath of Storm Ciara.

The county was battered throughout yesterday (Sunday 9 February), with winds speeds reaching around 75mph, causing numerous trees to come down.
