Exeter original band “no ordinary fish” are playing a gig at Exeter Phoenix Studio 1 on Sunday 8th October from 7.30-9.30pm to release their 2nd album “Adverse Camber”. ‘Toys of Innocence and Experience’ - the art show that WANTS visitors to play with its exhibits!
In this show toys are used as a vehicle for satire and social comment. Either by playing with them, or on close inspection, participants discover that these toys aren’t so innocent. Indeed, some of the twenty-five toys in the show might possibly be found to be disturbing, or even shocking. At the very least they cannot be described simply as sculptures. They are more like stimulators for the formation of thoughts - thoughts about society and the world we live in.

For the 12th year running, Exeter Phoenix are inviting people to take part in a free 48 Hour Film Challenge. No previous filmmaking experience is needed – just a good imagination and a camera. Teams will be given a theme, a prop and a line of dialogue before setting off on their mission. The challenge will take place between 9th-11th November.
